1. What is the name, class and level of your main character on Pyrewood Village, the one with which you wish to join Nighthaven? (This info is needed so we can process your application - and if you have a preferred nickname you may add it in parenthesis: e.g. Moonböw (Moon) or Stargazer (Eric)
Gonagall, Shaman (resto/ele). Level 85
2. What hours do you typically play? (Please include time zone as well)
Evenings (after 8pm ST), weekends. I have a family and so need to work around them
3. What is your experience with World of Warcraft? (How long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc.)
I started playing WoW in 2007 with TBC, and then played on and off until Shadowlands. I joined Classic WoW when TBC launched, as I wanted to try and get back some of the fun I had in 2007-2008 when I was young! I joined a guild with some old WoW players from way back when. I've raided in TBC and Wrath - mostly as 25-man, but I have always enjoyed 10-man raids more. Over time the guild has morphed into a more raid focused guild which has come at the expense (for me) of the social aspect of the game. I wouldn't describe myself as a raider - but I do enjoy 10-man raids, and always try to bring the best version of myself to a raid. I do also dabble in a bit of low-level PvP when I am feeling masochistic!
4. What is your favorite thing about World of Warcraft Classic WotLK? (The community? The Immersion? The progression? Are you a fast leveller or do you like taking your time? Do you like doing dungeons and raids? Chatting with others? Or are you more the solo and quiet type? Tell us a bit about yourself
I don't play any other games and started playing WoW as a way of spending time with my partner. Over this time I have grown to love the social interactions that you can make through WoW. I love meeting (virtual) people from very different backgrounds who you would never in a million years have met in real life. I enjoy working as part of team to clear content and I prefer doing this with guildies, rather than in PuGs. To me, an achievement is only worth it if you also had fun while doing it.
I enjoy chatting to people, but also there are times when I need a bit of downtime and so will focus on solo content. It takes me time to feel comfortable around people and so I may appear quiet at first, but will be very chatty eventually!
5. What are your goals in Classic WotLK, and what do you look forward to the most?
For cataclysm - I would love to kill Deathwing eventually, even if only once and when we have a 30% buff (if that is planned). I want to take my time in working though the content and not rush to the end. I enjoy raiding and while I have been part of a guild where we were aiming to progress to HC bosses in Wrath, this isn't a priority for me in Cataclysm.
6. Why would you want to join Nighthaven? (Please note we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild)
I have found that the game has changed a lot since I started in TBC - the introduction of HC bosses and achievements has, in my view, led to a fracturing of the social side of the game.
I would like to join a guild where the focus is on the player, not the DPS logs or parses or GS or class you play. People are more important than pixels and while that may hinder "progress" (as measured by the number of HC kills you have), I believe that a greater achievement sometimes means doing less, but doing it with joy
I play WoW as a way of escaping from RL troubles and so want to avoid drama and toxicity and be part of a friendly community.
7. What qualities do you have to offer, and what do you expect of your guild?
I'm a people person, I like interacting with others and learning about them and what makes them tick. If I am going to do something - I will always try and do it well. So if I do raid - I will turn up with optimised gear, gems, enchants, food etc. It might take me a while to "learn" a fight, but once I get it - it usually sticks.
I'd like to be in a guild that values the player, rather than the class or "performance". We all of us have different strengths and weaknesses and working to bring out the best in all players is what makes me happy.
9. Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven? (If so please include the name of the person)
Imoralis
10. Is there anything else you would like to add to help us know if we´d be a good match for each other?
I have read your description and it sounds like a lovely community to be part of.
