Hi, my name is Gianpiero, I'm a seasoned Italian WoW player (meaning that I'm old ) and this is my application form filled with the required information.
"What is your character name, what class do you play, and what level are you?"
- My character name is Esmeraldka, a lvl 18 (and growing) Human female Warrior
"What hours do you typically play? (Cite time zone as well.)"
- I live in the Czech Republic so my timezone is CET (Rome, Prague, Berlin) and I usually play a little bit in the mornings, before starting work, and then in the late afternoon/evening. I'm lucky enough to still be able to work from home in this troubled times, I'm a programmer. Due to the fact that we're renovating our apartment (now.. of all tines..) we had to move to our parents in law house and sometimes there's stuff and work to do around the house, gardening etc.. so I can't just play all the time during the weekend
"What is your experience with World of Warcraft? (How long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc.)"
- I started playing WoW back in the initial European beta of vanilla with a shaman, thinking that it could be a hybrid tank/damage dealer enhancement spec.. didn't work out so the guild set me to healing, which I'm quite bad at so I rerolled a warrior orc and I moved all the way from OT to MT when the official MT was absent or for lower tier content. My guild at the time (on the Hakkar server) went through all Molten Core, all the way to Neffy in BWL, we did ZG, which was my favourite Raid, and started AQ20.. then TBC launched and after a short period of Karazanh, another one of my favourite raids, I stopped playing because I needed to finish my studies I started playing again in WoD off and on.. played a lot of Legion and stopped when BFA launched.. all this time in later expansions very casually.. no guild, just pugs or lfr.. I played as a Prot Pally and Hunter mainly.
Then I picked up Classic when it launched on the horde side, then the Blizzchung debalce happened and I didn't feel like giving money to Blizzard anymore.. so I moved to private servers, the last one I played is a WotLK called Warmane.. but it didn't really click, the RDF and raiding is so streamlined that the sense of community is already feeling to dwindle to me.
Sooooo all this rambling to say that I dumped my horde characters on Pyrewood Village and started fresh on Alliance side a few days ago.
"Why would you want to join Nighthaven? (Please note, we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild.)"
- This will relate to a question down below too: I researched pve servers in classic to see which one is more balanced in terms of population and Pyrewood popped up, luckily it's the same one I was playing when Classic launched. Then I searched for a "progression casual friendly guild" on that server and the FIRST result was your guild.. on the official wow forums, so I checked this open section of your forum and just the fact that you need to put effort in filling an application form was kind of amazing
It seems to me that you created over the years a great community before being a group of players and raiders, and the top priority for me in WoW is being part of a community and make friends.
"Which qualities do you have to offer, and - what do you expect of your guild?"
- I hope to be a good tank, once I remember how to do it, but I'm not against being a damage dealer either; just don't ask me to heal, I'm really not good at it, I'm more a sword and board kind of type
I like hunters too.. and druids, those are the other 2 characters I created on the server.
What I expect from the guild, is a safe place to play my favourite game and make new friends, first of all. Then build some new memories of old raids and content in game with new people
"Where did you hear of us?"
- As I wrote above I found you while researching what the best experience could be in the game at this point in time for me. Then I made my move to switch to Alliance side and I was checking from time to time the /who in game to see what is your level composition and what kind of content you're playing, that's it
"Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven (if so please cite the person)?"
- No I don't know anyone yet.. I haven't approached anyone with questions
"Anything else you would like to add to help us know if we´d be a good match for each other?"
- Maybe some personal notes: as I said I'm a programmer, I'm 39 years old and as most adults have a busy life: family, work, friends.. so I see the experience in game as way to relax and make new friends, I don't need and want to cause drama for a bunch of pixels and I'm well aware that beyond the screen on the other side there's another person just like me
WoW holds a very special place in my heart because during Legion I met in game a very special person that ended up becoming my wife in real life now
I'm looking forward to hearing from you and stay safe.
