What is your character name (in-game) and what class do you play?
My character name is Mea, it was the original name of my first main character back in 2006, so naturally, I wanted that name for my main character in Classic. Fun fact about the name: I got a whisper the other day from a Spanish player telling me that my name means pee in Spanish. So… yeah there is that, apparently. I had no idea. Back in 2006, I picked the name from my current playlist and the song “Mea Culpa” by Enigma.
But enough about the name. I play a human mage. 2006-Mea was a hunter, and I remember always envying those pesky mages with their fancy portals and endless supply of water and high DPS. Despite that, I didn’t reroll mage until BC and have played mages pretty much ever since. I love playing a mage, and I think I’m a fairly good one at that, if I may say so myself.
What hours do you typically play (cite time zone as well.)
I’m typically online after the kids have gone to bed around 8 pm (server time) and usually stays on until 01 am (yeah, I’m a night owl) I can also log on during the day since my schedule is pretty flexible. On the weekends I usually play more but still mostly evenings.
What is your experience with World of Warcraft (how long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc?)
A friend of mine got me into World of Warcraft in 2006. I’ve never played an MMORPG before and remember being amazed by the sheer size of the world and all the people I could interact with. I was the biggest noob back then, but I had so much fun simply exploring and questing and immersing myself into the world of Azeroth. In BC I joined a raiding guild and raided up until Wrath. Eventually, when Cata came out a lot of my friends and the guild I was in stopped playing. I started playing on an RP-realm and tried out some roleplaying but nothing serious.
Throughout the next couple of expansions, I became more of a solo-player, and I had a hard time finding a guild with the community feeling I was missing. I missed having a guild with people I could connect with and experience content together with or simply talk to. Every other guild I joined was either excluding, or people did not care enough to get to know the new members, so as you might imagine I started really missing “the good old days” and was so excited when they announced Classic. I thought that this was my chance to go back and experience the game I fell in love with all those years ago and find a community of like-minded people to share this experience with.
While I was waiting for Classic to be released, I created an account on US. I had found a guild there through Facebook and was finally in a guild with people I enjoyed playing with and could call my home. Problem was the time difference, and I could rarely participate in the guild activities since they were at US prime time, which meant 03 am in the morning where I live. So when Classic was released, I decided to play on EU again and prayed I would eventually find a guild to call my home.
Why would you want to join Nighthaven? Please note, we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild.
I have taken my time and looked at many options. I did not want to join any guild and have declined many invites and told people I was not ready to commit to a guild just yet. I did not want to join any guild and be disappointed again as I have been so many times in the past. I am tired of guild-jumping and want to find a guild like the one I joined on US. After some consideration and reading on your website, I think Nighthaven is that guild for me. I appreciate the social mindset and focus on your members and community. Obviously, a lot of time and dedication went into creating this guild and each member going through this process to join your guild ensures that the members are equally as committed and that is how a community is built and nourished.
Also, I was excited to see that you have silly guild events and social activities such as the Brewfest event. The guild I joined on US used to have those events as well, and we had really fun together. I think it’s important to do other stuff together as a guild besides dungeon runs and raiding.
Which qualities do you have to offer, and - what do you expect of your guild?
I’m a helpful and kind-spirited person and will go out of my way to help other players with their quests or whatever it may be that is troubling them. I’m that mage that actually wants to give people food and water and cannot wait until I’m 40 and can make portals as well. I want to be useful and contribute in any way I can, and values friendship and community above all and that is mainly what I expect from this guild as well. I have high expectations on Classic, and a big part of the Classic-experience is the people and community you enjoy the journey with.
Where did you hear of us?
I found Alunaria’s post on the Classic forums. The title “A guild that values the journey, kinship and offers a community true to Classic WoW” really spoke to me and I was thrilled to find out Nighthaven was a guild on the server I play on.
Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven (if so please cite the person)?
No
Anything else you would like to add to help us know if we´d be a good match for each other?
Nothing I can come up with. I think I have written quite a lot about myself and my values on the other questions. I actually feel sorry for the person that has to read through all of my text, lol. My husband will probably apply to your guild as well. He plays a paladin named Sigward.
