1. What is the name, class and level of your main character on Pyrewood Village, the one with which you wish to join Nighthaven? (This info is needed so we can process your application - and if you have a preferred nickname you may add it in parenthesis: e.g. Moonböw (Moon) or Stargazer (Eric)
Tiefling-Affli Lock Lvl 70, but I would be just as happy on the 70 mage or 64 shadow priest. Its the guild I am looking for not the character as I love them all equally.
2. What hours do you typically play? (Please include time zone as well)
Work is prohibitive, I do 12 hour shifts 4 on 4 off, but when I am off 20:00-i fall asleep (usually 02:00) thats GMT.
3. What is your experience with World of Warcraft? (How long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc.)
oh wow, how long do you have-Vanilla to cata first time round. Was a progress raider in TBC and WOTLK till just before cata hit then I quit for family. In classic I went back in to get all the raids I missed first time round and got the characters I love back to 70 in TBC but then put it adide until now. I had done all i wanted to in TBC first time round so I was happy to skip this time.
4. What is your favorite thing about World of Warcraft Classic WotLK? (The community? The Immersion? The progression? Are you a fast leveller or do you like taking your time? Do you like doing dungeons and raids? Chatting with others? Or are you more the solo and quiet type? Tell us a bit about yourself
First time round I speed levelled Wrath to get to the raiding spot and I deeply regret it. I loved levelling alts as I found the questing was joyous and I missed it on my warlock, the whole theme of the expansion was to me the highlight of my whole time back then but i was pressured into being raid ready week one. Don't get me wrong I loved slow levelling my alts, it was my play time and most of it was solo as I didn't bring them into the guild and just pugged dungeons. Raiding id didn't enjoy as much as most of it was pressured for progress. I did pug Trial on my alts and loved that.
5. What are your goals in Classic WotLK, and what do you look forward to the most?
Ultimately I would like to get to go to ICC, i burned out and quit before we ever made it, but thats a real long term goal and I would prefer to go there with friends rather than meter buddies. Ideally I just want some friends to quest and occasionally dungeon with all through the expansion. I'm really looking forward to the questing.
6. Why would you want to join Nighthaven? (Please note we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild)
From what I have read you dont hold yourselves to lofty ambition, your looking for people not parses and racing to the endgame is really not what you want, the journey is more important than the destination.
When i first ever started wow vanilla back in the day it was to spend time playing a game with my work colleagues. We did everything together and would talk about it at work for more hours than we actually played. That was it, it wasn't about what we did, how we progressed it was about the shared experience. Unfortunately they left the game early in TBC and thats when I started the more raid focussed play and deeply miss the social aspect that got me hooked on the game.
Thats what I see with Nighthaven it just fells like its on my wavelength. I joined 'any guild' and a few of them, when classic hit and it just wasn't home, it was about progress, gear, raid buffs and logging out. I just really do not want that for WotLK, I wanna go exploring and questing with friends, not logging out for buffs I may use in 3 days to get an extra 50 dps but not be able to play my character, or stand on a mountain herbing but die to mobs cos i am too busy chatting to realise Im getting attacked-yup done that lots, im old and I cant play and type at the same time so if im talking to you, you have 100% of my attention.
7. What qualities do you have to offer, and what do you expect of your guild?
I spose I have to say experience and maturity, I am over 50 now In game and on socials I am respectful, empathic and patient, I have seen and done a lot that gives me a pretty calm attitude and I just take most things in my stride. If I'm honest i don't really tolerate stupidity (irreverence i'm all good with, buffoonery is a must and I have a really robust sense of humour) but stupidity I have problems with. I don't mean ignorance btw, that's just not knowing something and I have been accused of being a smartass a few times, but I mean proper stupidity. If you understand what I mean you get me.
What I am looking for is a place to be me socially, in a game secondary. The game is what will bring me here, or not its up to you guys, but the guild is what will make me come back every day. I don't expect anything from the guild except good company.
8. Where did you hear of us?
I saw your post on the Blizzard forum page for the server. I was looking to see if I could find one of my friends from Classic (pre TBC) and if her guild was still going.
9. Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven? (If so please include the name of the person)
I may do, if any of you have been here since classic launch and always on Pyrewood we may well have bumped into each other a few times. I will be honest though and say as its a work night while writing this I have not checked the roster-I really started this application without 110% research but you kinda got me hooked into the social aspect with the posts you put up I kinda hoped the lack of research may be overlooked. But irrelevant, if I do know anyone we will catch up, if not I will make new friends.
10. Is there anything else you would like to add to help us know if we´d be a good match for each other?
I would hope I have been pretty comprehensive. What I would say is in guild chat I am usually quite quiet, It doesn't mean i'm not there, not reading and taking it all in, i'm just not particularly chatty until I know people pretty well. If im online it means I am ready to do anything if i'm not grouped up already and I never offer my services if I think someone else deserves a spot more. If you want me in a group /w me and Im there. If you ask for help, im there, if you need stuff crafting and I can do it i will no issue. I just dont put myself out there i spose. Im honest, diligent and patient. If someone wants help and we wipe, so what, I once spent 8 hours trying to clear the bar in BRD cos someone in the group aggroed and it was one of the best days I ever spent on WoW...why....because it was with my friends and we laughed so hard it was worth every repair.
