1. What is the name, class and level of your main character on Pyrewood Village?
Hi, my name's Tonste - although my main on Pyrewood is Tonslight a 64 ret paladin. I have a not very imaginitive naming convention for all my characters!
2. What hours do you typically play? (Please include time zone as well)
As many as I can manage. With working from home (and the subsequent zero commute) I'm able to play a lot more. I'm usually on at some point every day - typically until 1-2 in the morning. I'm in the UK so 1 hour behind Server Time.
3. What is your experience with World of Warcraft? (How long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc.)
I started World of Warcraft in Vanilla when my Medal of Honour: Allied Assault Clan picked up Guild Wars and then WoW. I was a horrendous noob in Vanilla and TBC never managing to cap a character in either due partly to being obsessed with alts but also not understanding things like why solely stacking agi on a warrior may have been a bad idea! I got to 52 in Vanilla on a Warrior and 64 in TBC on a hunter and then capped a Warlock in Wrath. That saw me eventually get better and start to raid ICC and beyond.
Starting a family during Cata saw me step back to a more casual play style right the way through to the end of WoD since when I've consistently progressed to the point where last patch in retail I ended up clearing deep into Mythic and some pretty high keys.
4. What is your favorite thing about World of Warcraft Classic? (The community? The Immersion? The progression? Are you a fast leveller or do you like taking your time? Do you like doing dungeons and raids? Chatting with others? Or are you more the solo and quiet type? Tell us a bit about yourself
My favourite thing about Classic is the ability to 'go back' with the knowledge I have today and try again. It's not something you get the chance to do too often in any walk of life and I want to be able to experience the aspects of TBC I hear other long term players talk about in glowing terms for myself.
I've started getting my confident with dungeons and love the pacing and teamwork that's required to finish them. Not a fan of the whole 'AOE farm zerg' mentality that's evident in a certain section of the player base (I've got retail for that!) so like the slower paced, completionist, 'true classic' play style.
I love having a laugh with guildies and getting the know the people I'm playing with better. Typically do this through voice comms or /g during group content be it raids or dungeons.
5. Which goals do you have in TBC and what do you look forward to the most in the expansion? (Provided you intend to play TBC)
Simply put - cap a character! If I can stick with it to actually capping a character that'll be progress from when I played originally. I'd love to move through attunements/pre raid gearing in a non-toxic atmosphere should I manage to get to 70 too but there's zero rush to do that. If I ding 70, I'll be happy.
6. Why would you want to join Nighthaven? (Please note, we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild)
I've heard good things from Seph and Albiona (think that's the character he's on!). From what I can see, this guild is as close to the 'original' TBC experience as you're likely to get - that aligns with my goal of 'going back' and trying to experience the bits of TBC I missed first time around without the pressure of expectation (given I'm clueless in most facets of TBC )
7. Which qualities do you have to offer, and - what do you expect of your guild?
I'm willling to learn and take on board feedback, I perform at a good level once I've got my head around how things actually work. I'm enjoying starting from scratch with the dungeons I'm running to level up in terms of mob/boss knowledge so will always be available for guild groups. I also enjoy levelling (glutton for punishment!) so I'll always be up for playing multiple roles and helping others.
In terms of what I expect from a guild, a level of organisation and structure to help facilitate the different aspects of the game people want to pursue. A comfortable /g where you can have a conversation without excessive trolling and most importantly like minded people to experience the content with.
8. Where did you hear of us?
Seph and Albiona.
9. Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven? (If so please include the name of the person)
See above
10. Anything else you would like to add to help us know, if we´d be a good match for each other?
I'm not particularly great at selling myself - especially when I consider myself 'bad' at TBC given I've never played end game before. I've tried to put across enough info here without waffling - but if anything needs fleshing out, more than happy to have a chat.
I do still intend to play retail - just about to log on and do the 9.1 dailies, fun.... - but believe I can keep active in both games around retail raiding commitments.
