1. What is your character name, what class do you play, and what level are you? (This info is needed before your application can be processed)
Seph, Holy priest, will be boosted lvl 58 or 60 if I get time to play before launch and/or acceptance!
2. What hours do you typically play? (Please include time zone as well)
I am on most evenings – I’m in the UK. I log on typically after 8 server (varies dependent on work) and play until I start getting tired and need to go to bed – usually midnight server or not long after. Days vary and weekends I can play all day or sometimes not at all!
3. What is your experience with World of Warcraft? (How long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc.)
I started playing the Christmas after vanilla came out. I didn’t start earlier because I saw my son (who was 9 at the time) playing and I said – “if I ever start playing that I won’t stop”. Well, I was right. I started as a rogue and joined a guild that was just starting out in MC. We cleared it and moved on to BWL and cleared that too. I was not the best at dps and when my son used to play for me while I put my daughter to bed the guild would notice the dps drop when I took back over! I started levelling a priest to try out healing. I loved it! Sephrenia (as she was called then) dinged 60 a few days before the original TBC hit and I switched to her as my main.
I have not really been anything else since! She was Holy originally, then went Disc for WotLK (it was needed for the nasty pool things on the LK kill). I didn’t like chakras so stayed Disc until they started making it so you had to do dps to get the best from your healing. I suck at dps so in retail am back Holy. I even level as healing spec because it is my most comfortable thing to do in game. I have raided throughout the expansions and generally get AOTC, but am not interested in progression raiding any more. I was diagnosed with MS and my speed, dexterity and brain power took too much of a hit to be able to cope. I am more in it for the people.
I have played both alliance and horde, but love alliance most – horde are uglier and dirtier – I mean – a hovel or a castle – no choice. I like making ‘pretty’ chrs and I can’t do that horde with anything other than a BE. I have also played on RP servers and used the various add-ons to make a story for myself, but didn’t really get on with it.
In retail, I am a mad battle pet collector (1337 unique pets currently). I started in Vanilla and had bags and banks full of the pets and LOVED when they made them into a tab of their own – so much bag room back! My first was a tiny crimson whelpling that randomly dropped for me and I was hooked!
4. What is your favorite thing about World of Warcraft Classic? (The community? The Immersion? The progression? Are you a fast leveller or do you like taking your time? Do you like doing dungeons and raids? Chatting with others? Or are you more the solo and quiet type? Tell us a bit about yourself )
I am a very social person. I have friends on my bnet list that I made in vanilla. I have been an officer in many of the guilds I have been in and am usually the one in charge of recruitment, or dealing with people and various challenges, etc. I love all of wow – the lore, the scenery, the pets, the people, dungeons, raids, chatting. The only things I’m not that keen on are pvp and solo levelling. I am a slow and steady person.
IRL, I am a divorced 55 years young mother of 2 (26 and 20 now – both play wow and many other computer games). Previously I have played with my Dad (who is no longer with us), my ex-husband and my son with all 4 of us all together in the same room at Christmas – poor mum left on her own to watch TV or cook dinner! When I first started to play I wasn’t working but since my divorce I am now back working and it takes up far too much of my time – another reason I can’t raid or play as much as I once did!
5. Which goals do you have in TBC and what do you look forward to the most in the expansion? (Provided you intend to play TBC)
TBC was my favourite time in WOW – I would love to see if I can recapture some of the fun times I had – the guild I was in were exalted with the Violet eye before we even killed Mores as we worked through Karazhan, but we had super fun. I remember a solo healing run I tried in there - sephreniachat.blogspot.com/2008/08/sephrenias-solo-healing-karazhan-run.html if you fancy a read about it – I used to write a blog back then! One not so fun part was a 4 hours to clear shadowlabs, but I still remember it fondly if painfully!
6. Why would you want to join Nighthaven? (Please note, we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild)
I like the sound of a friendly, helpful, fun, chilled Guild who play for the joy of playing together more than the push, rush, kill types. I try, but I am by no means super skilled. My brain and fingers do not work like they used to. I would like to see if I can recapture the magic and fun I had in the original TBC but with some new friends. I want some more nights crying laughing because someone fell off a bridge and the cheering when something eventually dies that took far too many tries, or way too much time to do.
7. Which qualities do you have to offer, and - what do you expect of your guild?
I am a healer through and through and LOVE doing it. I am patient, generous, friendly, sociable and a Mum to everyone I come across (mostly because I tend to be old enough to actually be their mum). I expect patience, fun, social, kindness and a nice place to be with some active green text. In my WOW time, I have been to various guild meetings and also held one at my house (with visitors from the UK, Sweden and NL). Through WOW I have travelled from my home in England to Paris, Malta, Netherlands and almost made it to Sweden, but was ill and couldn’t go ☹
8. Where did you hear of us?
I have a friend from retail who told me about your guild – he is playing Albiona I believe here.
9. Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven? (If so please include the name of the person)
Albiona (Eivind)
10. Anything else you would like to add to help us know, if we´d be a good match for each other?
I want you to know that I still play retail, but things have gone very quiet. I believe I can balance and enjoy both classic and retail. Also, I am not enjoying retail as much as I once did – everything seems so rushed, so pressured, so ‘be the best and play like this or you are rubbish’ – I want to play with the talents I enjoy, or the gear that looks the prettiest. I do look after my character, but I don’t like being expected to play a certain way or to grind for days to get a particular level of something. I know that there are many things to do in order to raid or whatever in classic, but it never felt quite the grind as it does now!
I guess from the length of this application you might have got all that you may need and if I go on much longer I will be in danger of talking too much and putting you off me even more than I may have done already! Thanks for your time reading all this and I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
