Hi there, I'm choco! My full nickname is chocomallows, but people call me choco because hey, it's easier! I immediately want to point out that my ingame character names are different and actually not linked to chocolate at all, instead I try to give my characters "realistic" names based on wow lore, race, gender etc. The names of my characters also start with "Ar", because my irl name is Arne, so it's a play on that. But the way I present myself online, if you will, is choco!
What is your character name, what class do you play, and what level are you?
The name is Arthessa, she is a Feral druid, currently lvl 24.
What hours do you typically play? (Cite time zone as well.)
Hard to say, various moments throughout the day, timezone is CEST. Life for me has lost a lot of structure recently so sometimes I might have time to play all day, sometimes I might not be seen for a few days. However I do think that, for me at least, having people to play with is a great motivator to come back, which is something I've lacked throughout my Classic experience so far. Naturally, if my presence is expected for something, whether it be a raid or other guild-related events, I will be there unless real life reeeeally needs me to be somewhere else.
What is your experience with World of Warcraft? (How long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc.)
I was first introduced to WoW in 2010, when my older brother gave me his old pc, which allowed me to play games other than Age of Empires 2 hahaha. We didn't play on retail though, but on WOTLK private servers. Up until Classic's release, WOTLK private servers was the only WoW experience I really had. I jumped on and off from WoW throughout the years, I've played a variety of games but always came back to the game at some point.
In WOTLK I raided casually, did all the Heroic dungeons and leveled characters to my heart's desire. I'm a Tank at heart and spent most of my time playing a Prot Warrior. In fact, up until very recently, I never played any DPS class or spec! My current vision for my druid in Classic is to be a big bear protecting the pack. Sometime after Classic's release, I dipped my toes into BfA, too. I liked the leveling experience and initially enjoyed endgame (up until I realised how grindy it was). I also had people to play with, but they stopped so my motivation to continue on diminished. In Bfa I've done heroic raiding and mythic+ keys, the last of which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a lot to take in, though, and being so used to how Prot Warrior was in WOTLK, it was initially difficult for me to adapt (the spec plays completely differently now). Not soon after I switched from Prot Warrior to Guardian Druid (the character I did the heroic raiding on), and fell in love with both the class and the spec. I have also leveled and somewhat geared an Assassination Rogue and Unholy Death Knight in BfA, through casual Mythic+.
From all this, the main takeaway is this: I'll most definitely enjoy any content, however casual or hardcore, as long as I have people to enjoy said content with. I'm not specifically looking for people to continuously minmax and grind and do all the things in the best or most efficient way possible. I definitely have a competitive side, but enjoyment is paramount in everything.
Why would you want to join Nighthaven? (Please note, we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild.)
I was scouring the forums to look for a guild and when I found and read Alunaria's forum post introducing Nighthaven, it didn't feel like being introduced to a guild, it felt like being introduced to a home. A place to meet people, enjoy the game that has most of us captivated for many years already and a place to feel at ease. That was honestly all that was needed to reel me in, but the Night Elven aesthetic sealed the deal for me haha.
Which qualities do you have to offer, and - what do you expect of your guild?
A willingness to learn and help. That's the most honest way I can describe myself: I know I don't have all the knowledge regarding this game (I never played original Vanilla and during my WOTLK times I just leveled through the zones but never bothered with Vanilla engame content, because I had a Lich King to kill) but I am willing to learn, both in a serious setting (How to tank/position bosses/when to move where during raids) as well as all things casual (lore, interpersonal relationships, group content that isn't raiding, non-WoW related things, anything!). I'm also always ready and eager to offer a helping hand when I can, even though it will currently be rather limited since I'm only lvl 24.
My expectations are, honestly, unknown to me, in a sense. I've never really been in a guild before (On the private servers I just joined my older brother's guild, who was a GM there. When Classic launched I had a group of people to play with for a bit but that fell apart rather quickly). What I can say is that the social aspect of it all has to be there, the rest will most likely sort itself out automatically.
Where did you hear of us?
Alunaria's forum post on the WoW Classic forums.
Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven (if so please cite the person)?
I do not!
Anything else you would like to add to help us know if we´d be a good match for each other?
This might potentially be a dealbreaker but.. I don't care whether or not people put pineapple on pizza.
choco out!
