Hey there, here is my application.
What is your character name (in-game) and what class do you play?
Dirtnose and I play a human Paladin. I'm currently in the early levels after switching from a PvP server to Pyrewood Village.
What hours do you typically play (cite time zone as well.)
I'm usually around between early afternoons to late evening. If it's a day I'm not working, sometimes morning too. I'm in the GMT+0 timezone.
What is your experience with World of Warcraft (how long have you played, were you a raider, role-player, etc?)
I first played WoW in Vanilla but I was too young to really grasp it and at the time I was playing a different MMO. It wasn't until January 2007 when I got my own account and actually started to play properly as a Warlock alongside my brother. I remember struggling to level on my Warlock and just dying all the time, always struggling to keep soul shards up haha. I think I got to level 30 something if I remember right. I eventually made a Paladin around late 07/early 08 and that's been my "main" class ever since. Something about that class just fits perfectly with my playstyle and I love Paladin lore in this game. I enjoy other classes too but I always come back to Paladin.
I've always been more of a casual player throughout my WoW playtime. I enjoy collecting mounts, pets and achievements on current WoW. I do enjoy PvE content more than PvP but I've never been "hardcore" in either. I've done a bit of raiding, with the highest i've ever done being heroic raiding during WoD. Besides that it's usually LFR if I raid for me. I enjoy dungeons too.
I've always wanted to do more in the PvE sense, but I've never really taken that leap. On classic I'd like to do dungeons and raids although I've also not taken that step yet and I've mostly done solo stuff so far (hoping to change that by joining you guys hehe). Roleplay wise, I've never done it but I do enjoy WoW lore and know a semi decent amount about it. I like to do the head canon thing but I've never taken it further than that.
Why would you want to join Nighthaven? Please note, we ask for your reasons for wanting to join -this- guild, not just any guild.
I could tell quickly when reading the forum post, website and forums that it was the type of guild I'm looking for. Multiple factors, including an application requirement, full professional website and a focus on social interaction and non toxicity.
An application process means multiple positives things to me including the intent on the guilds side to genuinely learn more about each individual member even before they join as opposed to just throwing around invites to randoms in the game like some guilds do (pet peeve of mine).
It's a guild focused on non toxicity and inclusivity which is something I always look for in a guild. Real life is stressful enough, so I want a guild that doesn't allow the toxicity and the general unpleasantness that can happen in guilds without those standards laid out to everyone that joins beforehand.
I also prefer smaller compact communities like this one as opposed to mega guilds that end up having so many people due to invite spamming that it ends up being a bunch of bodies as opposed to an actual community.
Which qualities do you have to offer, and - what do you expect of your guild?
I'm not so good at praising myself honestly. I like to think I bring a friendly and welcoming attitude. I always try my best to be polite and patient with anyone I play with, especially when representing a guild tag. I also try and remain active in chats and help out anyone I can, providing I have the knowledge to help them of course.
I don't expect a huge amount. Mainly what I mentioned in the previous question. A guild that doesn't allow toxicity and has a friendly and tight knit community. Most importantly, I'm just looking for some chill/cool people to play the game with. None of my friends play classic so I'm playing solo most of the time. My girlfriend plays but she is busy a lot so isn't on much. This game is a lot funner when you're part of a group in my opinion, so that's my biggest want really.
Where did you hear of us?
The forum post on the Pyrewood Village WoW forums.
Do you know any current or former member of Nighthaven (if so please cite the person)?
I do not.
Anything else you would like to add to help us know if we´d be a good match for each other?
I'm big on sports. Football, American Football, Cricket etc. Although I know sports isn't everyone's thing hehe.
Slightly off topic as well, but I do hope my name isn't a rule break. I did read all the information before writing my application and read that only roleplay names are allowed in most cases. So I apologise if it is a break and my application is declined due to it. I appreciate the time either way. I've used this name since 2006 and it's weird to use any other name after so long. Most of my friends online just call me Dirt anyway.
Thanks for reading.
